What happens for you when you read this word? Close your eyes for a minute and observe how you feel, observe what you're thinking, whatever is coming, without expectations or judgments, the pleasant and the unpleasant things. So where are you at with love? How much love do you have in your life? I am talking about all kinds of love here: romantic love but also family love, friends' love, social love and most importantly self-love. Yes because love starts with oneself. And no it is not selfish. It is the basis for everything. We all need to be loved and lacking love is extremely painful. However we often look for what we are missing in somebody else when we can't even give it to ourself. It seems quite a lot to ask, doesn't it? The more you love yourself, the more you can receive from others and give to others. We need to understand and feel that we are lovable beings to be able to receive. We need to understand and feel that we are loving beings to be able to give. And all of this needs to be balanced. If I give more than I receive, I will be empty. If I receive more than I feel, I will be too full and maybe suffocate. Think about that in your next loving exchanges. We can also give to and receive from different people. The balance does not come from just one relationship. So, do you love yourself? Can you look at yourself in the mirror and say: "I love you". What about promising yourself to love yourself more and more everyday? Of course you are not perfect and you must have parts of yourself (physical or personality wise) that you don't like so much. But what about starting with accepting them, see what is beautiful and good about them, and thank them? Then forgive yourself for your mistakes. Promise yourself you will try to do better next time if you feel the need for a change, or just promise yourself to be more tolerant with yourself, as if you were speaking to a friend. And finally love every part of yourself.
I personally like a lot the ho'oponopono mantra to work with : "I am sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I love you." You can apply it to any situation, you can also talk to yourself or your body using this mantra. Try it, experiment it and feel it! Some affirmations can also help you in this process to love yourself more: I deserve to be loved, I am a lovable being, I receive and I give love, I invite more love into my life, I invite more love for myself and others. If you feel blockages with these affirmations or this idea of self-love, get in touch with me. We can unblock a lot with EFT and ho'oponopono for exemple. Love is everywhere and its vibration is extraordinary :-) Enjoy it!
